scultpture/painting at Laveno Mombello (MILAN). Personal exhibit of 50 drawings at Cavaria (MILAN). 1981 Studies and sketches for the pictorial cycle "the Apocalypse of S. Giovanni" for the church of San Martino in Ferno (MILAN). 1982 Summer: Travels to Nicaragua, speaks at a conference on Public Art, founds the "Brigada Muralista Rodrigo Penalba" and begins working on the pictorial cycle in the church of the Barrio Riguero in Managua. |

| 1982-83 Major painted murals in
the lower Varesoto around the area of the Intercontinental Airport of MILAN: - "Assunzione" for the dome of the 17th century church of S. Maria degli Angeli in Lonate Pozzolo. Acrylic 70 mq. - "Episodi della vita di Cristo", triptych for the apse of Castelnovate di Vizzola Ticinos church. Acrylic 40 mq. - "Crocifissione", in the baptismal apse of the church in Bergoro/Fagnano Olona. Traditional frescos 18 mq. 1983 Summer- While in Mexico, meets and makes friends with some of the principle painters in the country among them: Chavez Morado, Olga Costa, Rina Lazo, Arturo Garcia Bustos and the Maestro Siqueiross widow Angelica Arenal. In Mexico Citys Barrio Tepito lectures on mural painting with the Maestro Daniel Manrique and then moves on to Managua to paint the murals "The Tayacanes" (31 mq); "Larreynaga" (10 mq) and AMNLAE" (38 mq). This last incorporates ceramic reliefs and mosaics. |

his work appear in the book "Arte e Mestieri" edited by the artisans of Varese
province. 1983 Mural "La Pace" for the "Centro Mondialità e Sviluppo Reciproco" of Livorno (four walls, 100 mq). 1984 "Messico : quale indentità ", alto-rilievo in ceramica realizzato nell' atelier del maestro Ceramista Alberto Diaz de Cassio in Coyoacan - Città del Messico. Esegue studi sistematici sul Muralismo Messicano, nell'archivio particulare del maestro Siqueiros in Cuernavaca e Città del Messico. 1984-88 Civilian volunteer in Nicaragua as part of the Programma di Cooperazione Tecnica of Italys Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Responsible for the Progetto del ONG MLAL that was overseeing construction of the new "Escuela Nacional del Arte Publico-Monumental D. A. Siqueiros" within the sphere of activities promoted by Nicaraguas Ministry of Culture directed by the poet Padre Ernesto Cardenal. |

1984 Educational activities in the new school begin and gain widespread national and international interest for the unique experience that it provided. Flat mosaics, mosaics in relief and murals by the artist are executed as educational exercises by the artist. 1985 The experiences of the preceding year are discussed in the book "Arte al Muro" by Giovanni Albanese published by Editrice Il Bagatto Universita di Roma. 1985 In July the Ciclo Pittorico di Integrazione Plastica is inaugurated in the Barrio Riguero's Santa Maria De Los Angeles church, Managua: 680 mq of murals, ceramics, mosaics, sculpture and polychromes that depict the "La Storia Del Nicaragua". Four Italians collaborated on the realization of this work together with 27 students from Nicaragua and other countries, as well as approximately 20 local technicians and artisans. This work was declared part of the National Cultural Patrimony by the law "Legge N. 90" of 1990 by the government of the republic. |

publishes a monograph about this work in Italian and Spanish. A brief comment about the
murals is also made by Salman Rushdie in his
book "The Jaguars Smile: A Nicaraguan Journey" 1987, Penguin Books NY.
Interesting citation by Mario Vargos Llosa in
the May 20th 1985 edition of La Prensa" (Managua). The speech given
at the works Ministry of Culture inauguration by Padre Ernesto
Cardenal in the "Nuevo Amanecer Cultural" is published on

1986 Continues educational
activities at the new Managua School: there are numerous interviews and programs on the
Nicaraguan television and radio stations and articles in the daily newspapers. Guided
tours bring foreigners to the installations at the school and to the other works. The
latter are discussed in Mexico by Maestro Arnold Belkins in his book "Contra la Amnesia" edited by the Universidad
Autonoma Metropolitana de Ciudad de Mexico. 1986 August ONG MLAL delegate to the Salvador Bahia Congress; visits to the internal regions of northeast of Brasil, the city of Recife and Rio de Janerio. 1986 Member founder of the Galleria dArte Moderna di Leon in Nicaragua; publication in Managua of the thrice yearly magazine of public art "El Andamio" 1987 The Universidad Centroamericana de Nicaraguas (UCA) magazine "Encuentro" publishes a wide ranging article on the Nicaraguan Muralist Movement that developed around the new Scuola di Arte Pubblica. 1987 The "Sala de Arte Publico Siqueiros" in Mexico City dedicates a photographic exhibition of works by the Scuola di Managua. |

Arnulfo Romero (CEMOAR) in Managua and creation of the mural
"Il Buon Governo" (25 mq) 1988 Nicola Micieli publishes an interesting article on the artists works in Pisan review "Il Grande Vetro" (N. 1, January 88). 1988 Personal show of drawings and sketchings in Milans Galleria Ciovasso. 1988 Personal exhibition, and Anthology of Drawing and Painting in the church of S. Rocco in Carnago (MILAN). 1988 July Inauguration in Gallarate (MILAN) of the Mural "Il Caffé: de Las Segovias a Puerto Sandino" in the Centro Commerciale Laghi (15 x 1.70 m). 1988-89 December-January S. Martino al Taglimento (Pordenone - NORTHEAST ITALY), public presentation of the sketches for the vault frescos in the parish church. 1989 Returns to Nicaragua and creates at Managuas CEMOAR the mural "Crocifissione" (30 mq). 1989 In Mexico City, together with other important Latin American artists, founds "TALAMURO" (Laboratorio Latinoamericano di Muralismo and Intergrazione Plastica). Then in 1990 in Milan, forms the Italian section of TALAMURO with Italian painters and Latin American painters resident in Italy, which will publish the magazine "El Andamio" (The Scaffold). |
